Example Case Studies

  • Long Term Fundamentals and Prices

    Naphtha: A Far East Asian trading company required a detailed bottom-up model of long-term balances and prices of heavy and heavy full-range naphtha in the East and West of Suez. The study involved looking at modelling of naphtha outputs from refineries and condensate splitters to ascertain naphtha grade, corroborating that with traded naphtha specifications and looking at downstream outlets for naphtha. The study also involved looking at key drivers of the heavy and heavy full-range naphtha markets through the 2020s – the gasoline story and the aromatics story. 

  • Commercialization of NGL volumes

    LPG and Condensates: An Australian producer wanted to properly understand their potential options in marketing LPG and condensates output from various liquids streams associated to their gas assets in Australia. FGE provided the client with a detailed understanding of both the LPG and condensates markets (major importers, global trade flows, pricing structures from various producers), a lowdown on what competitors are doing and any policy, environmental and regulations that will impact their pricing potentials.

  • Condensate Valuation Studies

    Condensate: In two separate instances, we have provided condensate valuation studies for existing and prospective FOB sellers based on condensate specification. For the prospective entrant into the condensate market, the study was a one-off long-term study on pricing of prospective condensate coupled with a market overview as well as an assessment of flows and end-uses of similar grades. For the existing FOB seller, the study culminated to a quarterly deliverable of valuations with a low down of key drivers that influenced historical and forecasted prices.
