Overview

FGE’s Light Distillate Service integrates FGE’s supply, demand and trade analysis and expertise across the light end of the barrel, providing unique insights into the critical interplay between gasoline and naphtha.

Global developments since 2020 have made the light distillate trading market increasingly unpredictable. From the COVID-19 pandemic to the war in Ukraine, global light distillates’ markets have experienced unprecedented volatility since the turn of the decade.

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in unprecedented shifts in the interplay between gasoline and naphtha, with transport fuel demand collapsing but petrochemical demand remaining firm. In 2022, the removal of Russia, one of the biggest suppliers of naphtha in the world, is now creating huge complications for petrochemical players, who are now starting to face weaker downstream margins. Meanwhile, gasoline demand is recovering rapidly in most key markets. Refiners, petrochemical companies and traders need to understand how these changes will affect their plans, both on a short-term and long-term basis.

FGE’s Light Distillate Service answers these key questions and provides our outlook for short-, medium-, and long-term market developments. We are confident that FGE’s marketleading expertise in refining, NGLs and transport fuels comes together in this targeted integrated service.

The service contains short-term analyses of regional supply/demand (in Gasoline Foresights and Naphtha Monthly), as well as longer-term outlooks for gasoline and naphtha supply, demand, shipping, and prices (Gasoline Outlook, Naphtha Outlook).

In addition, FGE offers clients commercial advisory services, ad hoc project work, workshops, seminars and presentations.
