Event Agenda

Session 1

Setting the Scene—Oil & Gas/LNG Markets

Session 2

Roundtable Session - Long-Term Implications of Shifting Market Dynamics

  • Highlights of 2024 contracting.
  • The big debate continued through 2024 on whether the market favored buyers or sellers. What do we expect in 2025?
  • What price level can we expect to see for the next long-term oil- linked deal? Has the anticipation of another new supply wave brought slopes down yet, despite the prevailing market tightness?
  • We saw a boom of FIDs in recent years. Will it slow down? What are the headwinds and tailwinds for new project FIDs?
  • Ongoing and upcoming price reviews – who and when? Dilemmas faced by buyers and sellers.

Speaker: T.B.C.

Session 3

China’s Gas Market and LNG Imports

  • Role of gas in China’s quest for carbon-neutrality.
  • Gas-on-gas competition: How are buyers’ LNG procurement decisions affected by the domestic gas pricing environment?
  • Infrastructure deregulation – What has changed during PipeChina’s five years of operation, and how have they influenced buyers’ procurement decisions?
  • Shifting roles of NOCs and new buyers – What should sellers know when marketing LNG to China?

Speaker: T.B.C.

Session 4

LNG Supply Outlook

  • Risked vs. Unrisked LNG Supply: Insights from our risk assessment on the upcoming supply wave.
  • USGC vs. Pacific Coast: How are North American LNG project developers addressing the Panama Canal bottleneck?
  • Where do we see supply growth outside of North America? How is the Middle East and Africa’s LNG expansion progressing, and which markets will contract this supply?
  • The impact of tightening environmental regulations on LNG supply optimization across trading basins.

Speaker: T.B.C.

Session 5

LNG Shipping Market - What LNG players need to know

  • How will the LNG shipping market impact buyers’ procurement strategies over the next five years?
  • What are the prospects for spot/short-term charter rates?
  • What impact will rising vessel costs have on long-term charter rates?
  • Panama Canal: How will the bottleneck impact the cost of bringing US LNG to Asia?
  • FLNG: Is the future of the FLNG business evolving?
  • What are buyers’ current options in FSRU market: How many FSRUs will become available in the short term?

Speaker: T.B.C.

Session 6

Established Asian LNG Markets - Japan, Korea, and Taiwan

  • Japan: Will Japan’s new Strategic Energy Plan, to be announced by April 2025, encourage buyers to start signing LNG term contracts? Who are dependable suppliers for Japanese buyers?
  • Korea: What are the key drivers of Korea’s gas market outlook? Discussions on the new Power Plan, the evolving role of KOGAS vs private importers, and LNG pricing/commercial discussions.
  • Taiwan: Role of gas in Taiwan amidst nuclear phase out and expansion of renewables as Taiwan works towards its net-zero target. Progress on Taiwan’s LNG procurement and implications of regasification bottlenecks.

Speaker: T.B.C.

Session 7

Emerging Asian LNG Markets

  • Overview of emerging Asian gas markets.
  • What is the prospect for domestic gas supply in each market? What drives gas/LNG demand?
  • What is the ability to pay in these markets?
  • Status of planned LNG import projects in these markets and progress towards LNG procurement for new importers.

Session 8

India’s Term LNG Procurement Picks Up Steam as a Period of Surplus Approaches

  • Overview of India’s gas market.
  • Upstream policies have seen limited changes. Are current policies adequate to support continued growth?
  • Adequate growth is expected in India’s regasification and pipeline projects in time for the next LNG supply wave.
  • Downstream policies still contradict plans to boost gas’ share in the energy mix, as they continue to favor coal and renewables. Is this a good time for long-delayed policies that address air quality concerns by supporting gas/LNG?
  • An overview of Indian buyers and their roles. Indian buyers have been busy in the past few quarters. How much appetite do Indian buyers have for long-term LNG volumes?

Speaker: T.B.C.
