SINGAPORE (January 31, 2017) – PLL awarded FGE the contract to provide LNG commercial consultancy services during the tender evaluation process for the procurement and import of LNG from international suppliers for PLL’s current financial year 2016-2017. The contract was awarded under a single-stage two-envelope procedure for open competitive bidding as outlined under Pakistan’s Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules, and signed on January 16, 2017.
Public-sector company PLL has the government mandate to procure and import liquefied natural gas (LNG) to meet the country’s energy and gas requirements. In addition, PLL also has the government mandate to manage the whole supply chain of LNG from procurement to end user gas sale agreements.
FGE is pleased to be continuing our relationship with the government of Pakistan. This follows our 2014 appointment as commercial consultant for Pakistan’s first LNG import project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Pakistan Energy Policy Program. FGE developed the LNG import strategy, as well as implemented and executed the LNG import plans, which included the negotiation and finalization of the LNG contracts.
PLL operates under the governance of Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources.
