On Tuesday 23rd May, 2017, The CSIS Energy and National Security Program hosted  Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki, Founder and Chairman of FGE, for a presentation and discussion on the current state of global oil and gas markets, one balancing as the other appears to tip toward imbalance.

We are delighted to share with you access to Dr. Fesharaki's presentation.

Overview of CSIS:

Please join the CSIS Energy and National Security Program for a discussion on global refining with Fereidun Fesharaki. The global refining sector is in a period of adjustment that has far reaching implications for investment, regional and global trade, market developments, prices, and security considerations.Today refining assets provide businesses and countries with particular opportunities and advantages but also face challenges. U.S. refineries, among the most complex in the world, export to Latin America and Europe and will soon be exporting large volumes to Asia, which accounts for some two-thirds of the global oil demand growth. But going forward;U.S. crude exports are greatly dependent on whether the U.S. crudes fit the global refining needs. Are refineries in Asia and the Middle East positioning to become the new suppliers of petroleum products? If so, what implications would that does that carry for global trade and supplier-purchaser alignments?
